Rev. Melvin Moody

Rev. Melvin G. Moody is a retired Itinerant Elder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, he began his ministry at Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church, KCKS, in 1979. Throughout his ministry, he traveled across the states of Kansas and Missouri, pastoring congregations and serving the Lord.

Rev. Moody lives to serve whenever and wherever God calls. He was an active member of the Methodist Ministers’ Alliance, serving as Chaplain. Believing God is the ultimate healer, he readily visited and prayed for the sick at home and in the hospitals.  While working for the Globe Newspaper, Rev. Moody was responsible for sharing and posting the “Scripture of the Week”, hence spreading God’s Word through the community. During the times when he was unassigned as a pastor, Rev. Moody was called to stand in and preach God’s message to congregations in the absence of their pastor.

In addition to his religious studies, Rev. Moody passionately studied and continues to study Natural Health and Nutrition. He is always ready and willing to share his knowledge in this area.

After his last Pastoral appointment, Rev. Moody returned to his home church, Grant Chapel A.M.E., KCKS, faithfully serving as an Associate Minister committed to serving whenever and however God leads him.
